Ciliegiolo is a red grape variety from central Italy, typical of Tuscany and Umbria. The grape takes its name from its supposed cherry-like flavour and colour. It is a soft partner in the blend with Sangiovese. Ciliegiolo – in purity – produces wines of excellent quality
