SOOD HONEY: EMANUMIELE – The honey we offer to you has special characteristics. It comes from Sicily and is made by Giacomo: a man with an extraordinary love for his land and work. What is so special about our honey? It comes from the Nebrodi Natural Park, one of the most untouched areas on the island. Giacomo’s bees live in a special environment: the mountain falls that sheer down to the sea. In a very short distance (it takes 15 minutes by car), you can go from sea level to 1500 metres above sea level.
In this space far from large cities and industrial centres an incredible number of plants and shrubs bloom, from the lemon trees in the gardens near the beaches, to the chestnut trees in the woods.
THE SICILIAN BLACK BEE ´- One of the merits of companies like Emanumiele is that they work to safeguard endangered species, such as the Sicilian Black Bee. It has very different characteristics from farmed bees. It is extremely hardy and has a great capacity for adaptation and it is also awake during the cold months. This is why our Millefiori honey, for example, has flavours in it that are impossible to find not only in industrial products, but also in other artisan honeys. That’s because the Sicilian Black Bee is capable of making honey with the flowers of February, for example, or other cold months.
