Caprese Salad Recipe

Here is a recipe for Caprese Salad for 4 people.

INGREDIENTS:

4 ripe tomatoes
2 buffalo mozzarellas
A handful of fresh basil leaves
Extra-virgin olive oil to taste
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste


PREPARATION:

  • Start by preparing the tomatoes. Wash them thoroughly and cut them into slices about 1 cm thick.
  • Arrange the tomato slices on a serving plate.
  • Take the buffalo mozzarellas and cut them into slices the same thickness as the tomatoes.
  • Take the fresh basil leaves and wash them gently. You can choose to leave them whole or cut them into smaller pieces to distribute them better over the preparation.
  • Add the buffalo mozzarella slices and basil leaves over the tomato slices.
  • Dress the salad with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil. You can adjust the amount to your liking, but try to spread it evenly over all the ingredients.
  • Add a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper to enhance the flavors.
  • Let the Caprese Salad sit for a few minutes so that the ingredients blend and the flavors meld.
  • Serve it as an appetizer or as a fresh and tasty side dish. You can accompany it with crusty bread or breadsticks.
